Message from the UK Director - Russell Bird

    Christmas Wishes
It is that time of year again, snow, sleigh bells and mistletoe (ok I haven't heard the sleigh bells, but the others are around in abundance).
From the team at Paritech we hope you have a merry and safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Announcements
Attention all data users - Major Changes to Paritech EOD data

After a lengthy review of available data sources we are pleased to announce that our EOD data will soon be sourced from Reuters. Reuters will give us the best combination of data quality and reliability whilst offering the flexibility to add additional markets and data fields in the second half of 2004..

What do you need to do? The
evening of December 31st will be the first day for Reuters data. In general the move will be transparent to end users, with a few notable changes :

1) LSE Indices data will now be available in a separate folder. This will make it easier to find and manage the Indices. Also,  if you don't use them you can opt to speed up the downloading process and not download them at all.  If you use the FTSE sector Indices or Eurotop indices then you will need to download an updated version of Data Director 2 and a new Indices History folder. You can get these by clicking here, or alternately contact us on 01787 888080 or by email to support@paritech.co.uk and we will send you the Indices History and Data Director 2 on a FREE CD.

2) You may notice a reduced overall symbol count - we have removed a number of unnecessary miscellaneous symbols from the LSE data feed. These typically trade infrequently and can clog up your data history.

Please contact us if you have any questions relating to these changes. We are confident that the changes will be beneficial to all and longer term, access to Reuters will allow us to add new markets and matching fundamental data to our current data product set.

Featured Indicator/Analysis of the Month

MetaStock - Price Rate Of Change
A long recognized phenomenon of security prices is the fact that prices tend to surge ahead and retract in a cyclical wave-like motion. The Price Rate-Of-Change indicator illustrates this wave-like motion of a security's price in an oscillator format. As the security's price increases, its R.O.C. will rise; conversely, as its price falls, its R.O.C. will fall. The faster prices rise or fall, the faster the R.O.C. will rise or fall.
